They can be gas, propane or wood-burning and are most times placed or built into a sitting area; however, you can also choose to have a fire pit that is built into the pool’s perimeter wall, making it part of the pool itself, not a free-standing structure. This area becomes the focal point at outdoor gatherings and the best part is they can be used year-round! Wrap yourself up in a cozy blanket with some hot chocolate to keep warm in the winter and light it up to roast s’mores with your kids in the summer. Fire Bowls
Fire bowls are typically incorporated around the pool and come in various designs. Depending upon the design of your pool, multiple fire bowls can be added around the perimeter creating a mesmerizing effect. They are filled with lava rock or fire glass, whatever your preference, and can utilize natural gas or propane. Want to take your fire bowl to the next level? Fire walls are one of the newer trends in fire features being added onto custom pools. Typically, the flames come out of the top and, like fire bowls, they can be combined with water features to give your backyard that WOW factor. A fire wall water fountain is a feature that will bring all the elements into play, combining the power and brilliance of fire with the calming, tranquil sounds of water. Additionally, fire walls can play double duty, stabilizing your foundation by acting as a retainer.

It never fails, no matter the size, the kitchen is the place everyone ends up when hosting a party. So why not bring your kitchen outside? Although not a fire feature like those described above, an outdoor kitchen or built in grill will make your backyard the #1 destination for parties. It also keeps food smells out of the house and can reduce electric bills as your A/C system doesn’t have to work hard to cool down your house when the oven is on.
